Wesley has given his time and energy to be part of International Indigenous Flame's "Hand to the Community" strategy, which helps to establish programs and activities with Indigenous young people in the Townsville region. He is a member of the Queensland Youth Council.

 | Think Do Tank - Giving It Away: Volunteering in the 20th Century - Years 8–10
Sione Fa’Aoso’s is a Young Indigenous Leaders forum participant who started the Hoop Dreaming Project, a national community crime prevention program for 12–18-year-olds. Yassmin Abdel-Maggied is a member of the Queensland Youth Council, was the Youth Premier at the 2008 Queensland Youth Parliament and volunteers for the United Nations Youth Association of Australia. She started an organisation called Youth Without Borders, is a member of The Edge Youth Advisory group and attended the Australia 2020 Youth Summit. Chris Nobile is a Queensland Youth Council member and Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award recipient. Chris was the speaker at the Gold Award presentation ceremony, as well as being selected to attend APEC in September 2007. Wesley Stubbings has given his time to be part of International Indigenous Flame’s Hand to the Community strategy which helps establish programs and activities with Indigenous young people in the Townsville region. He is a Queensland Young Volunteer Award winner and is a member of the Queensland Youth Council.
These four inspiring young volunteers will share the commitment and drive that energises and inspires them to give their time for the greater good of their community. Exploring the different models of volunteering and the very real returns that volunteers earn from their work, attending students will leave the session inspired to consider how they might seek out volunteering opportunities within their own communities.
