ABOUT THINK DO TANK
The 2009 Ideas Festival is proud to present its first dedicated schools program as an integral component of the Festival program. The Think Do Tank provides a context for relevant, meaningful and focused engagement with the people who, in a few short years, will be our policy makers and political leaders.

Over two big days, Thursday 26 and Friday 27 March 2009, the Think Do Tank will bring together in one place; speakers, workshop facilitators and inspiring youth representatives. Participants will join in positive and robust discussion and exploration. The Think Do Tank will host a range of panels and workshops and interactive media profiling innovators, designers, futurists, inspiring youth, scientists, teachers and students, legislators and enthusiastic participants.

The Think Do Tank program is developed with consideration to a recommended age range of students in Years 6 -10. Cost is $12 per student per day - the best value excursion your students will make in 2009. Choose to come for one or two days but dont miss out!

Programming for the Think Do Tank makes very clear links with the Key Learning Areas and Essential Learnings. The five content streams are:
I: Invention and Innovation
D: Development and Design
E: Ecology and Ethics
A: Action and Advocacy
S: Self and Society

In partnership with the Learning Place, Education Queensland’s online learning environment, the Ideas Festival becomes accessible to students across all geographical boundaries. A legacy of teacher developed materials and teaching recommendations will ensure that the Think Do Tank programming remains relevant and applicable prior to, during and post the Festival dates.

The Ideas Festival gratefully acknowledges the generous support of the Year of Creativity 2009, enabling the development of teacher support resources to accompany and enrich the Festival experience for all students throughout Queensland.
